I was born in Salt Lake City, and raised in Heber City, Utah. I grew up with a father and mother that had a great appreciation of art. My Dad taught art at Wasatch High School for close to 37 years. At first it was all fine arts and then he moved more into the graphic design realm. All of which was passed down to us as his kids. It took sometime for me to realize that being an artist was what I wanted to do with my life. In fact I didn't go back to school until I was 29 or 30 years old. I felt I couldn't make a living at it and was scared to step out or put myself out there to be critiqued. Now that I started back to school I have loved every minute of it. I learn more with each class and know now that I couldn't do anything else but art. I doodle all the time. I wake up at night with ideas and images in my head. I get excited to start and finish a piece. I love the process.
